My pickleball journey

I began my pickleball journey in 2011 as the Sports Director at the La Jolla YMCA, where I launched a pickleball program from the ground up. In 2015, I turned pro, competing alongside and against some of the games top professionals, including Ben Johns, Collin Johns, Dekel Bar, Tyson McGuffin, Adam Stone, AJ Kohler, Callan Dawson, Tyler Loong, and many others. That same year, I joined Selkirk Sport as a sponsored pro.

In 2017, I started a pickleball program in Murrieta, and in 2018, I successfully advocated for and helped establish four permanent courts in Temecula. That same year, I launched the Temecula Pickleball Group, a private Facebook page now boasting over 3,000 members, dedicated to promoting the sport locally. 

My role in Temecula pickleball expanded in 2020 when I was hired as the Cities Head Pickleball Pro. What started as a single class with 12 students has grown into 10 sold-out programs with a waiting list, serving over 200 players per month. I have taught and trained over 2,000 students in the last 7 years from beginners to professional level. 

 In 2022, I was honored to join Tyson McGuffin Signature Pickleball Camps as a lead pro, further expanding my coaching expertise. 

By 2023, I took on the role of Tournament Director for So Cal Pickleball Club, while also running my own camps, clinics, corporate events, and private lessons.

In 2024, I had the privilege of being featured in the first-ever PickleFlix Film Festival, which highlighted my role in the growth and development of pickleball in Temecula.

Looking ahead to 2025, I am continuing my pickleball journey with The Bucher Pickleball Academy, focusing on high-level coaching and youth development, furthering my commitment to growing the sport and shaping the next generation of players. Reach out to work with me today!
